I sincerely thank my wife and family, Eric, Bob, Barbara, Linda, Jason, Mark, Lee and the many volunteers and supporters of this your campaign. My thanks is direct and sincere; I will take the rest of this lengthy note to explain how I see the value of our campaign, the value of supporting JD Hayworth and why the Tea Party activist movement is the important component as we lead a much needed repair and correction that must take place at all levels of government.

My decision to end our campaign was an eleventh hour decision, one that was really not difficult because I remain a rational and practical man who continues to see a picture much bigger than our campaign for the U.S. Senate.
Last April we were the first to stand up and challenge the establishment, something I am proud to have done. I knew the electorate was growing restless yet had a common goal, to restore Constitutional government. After all, that is why our borders and illegal immigration are so important. It is the primary duty of the government to provide for the common welfare by securing our borders and “managing” the flood of humanity that desires to enter our shores for whatever reason.
I have been an activist for 8 years and I realize change only occurs when you figure out how to
compel people to become not just vocal and active, but to do research, learn where reliable
accurate info can be found, how to analyze it and apply our efforts in rational, proactive and
educationally meaningful endeavors.

Our activism is easy to promote; borders, security, law and order, and Constitutional conservative
leadership. We walk the walk and do the most to preserve individual liberties by doing the most to
identify and repeal ways in which government oppresses our freedoms. Nine months ago our
campaign challenged the status quo right between the eyes and I have carried the message to the
Republican establishment all across Arizona.

Our campaign represents just the first shot fired around the nation – we took on the most sinister
element, a progressive, socialist masquerading as the leader and conscience of the Reagan
Republican party. Our campaign helped educate thousands and bring hundreds of Republicans
(and independents back to the party) as brand new first time precinct committeemen.

Thousands of people heard me speak of the importance of independence from the party and the
healing we can bring to the party by reminding them that the Constitution comes first, not party
loyalty.

Thousands of people heard me promote learning by reading the 5000 Year Leap by Skousen, along
with studies in economic principles by Hayek and Ludwig Von Mises to name just a few.
Thousands of minds, perceptions and biases were challenged; thousands of people were offered a
new approach to public service, a new ideal that begins with the basic fundamentals.
To me that is a complete success and I will aggressively continue my educational endeavors

As of today I have received tremendous support for my decision to support JD Hayworth as “our”
best shot to accomplish 3 things:

1. Give this seat back to the people of Arizona.

2. Move our state party back to individual liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on
government and the judiciary, and the promotion of free enterprise, national defense and traditional
American values in the post McCain era.

3. Continue my efforts to see our borders secured and our education system free of progressive
programs and government/union control.

Why do I support JD Hayworth?

Lots of reasons.

When I look at JD’s support team, his endorsements, his ability to fundraise, well, like I said, I’m a
reasonable and practical man. The reality is that I look over at JD’s team and I see all the people I
have worked with at the GRASSROOTS level in the state for the past 8 years. We have all been
working on the same team for a long, long time. We have endured the most hateful attacks and in
turn have exposed one of the most divisive and deadly issues facing our nation. We are in the
greatest sense a unique band of determined brother and sister citizens.

I made a pledge that I would not engage in dirty politics and will never do so – but folks need to
consider this about Jim Deakin – where has he been for the past 8 years? That’s not dirty, that’s reality, and not meant to demean Mr. Deakin’s life efforts in any way.

I say this only to illustrate why I support Hayworth. This is my first time running for office, but it is not my
first year in politics; I look around at the people supporting Hayworth – and see those of us who are
survivors on a battlefield strewn with casualties and failed attempts to correct the wrongs.

When I look around at those I stand shoulder to shoulder with today as we continue to lead this
reform, I see my friends and colleagues; true warriors, tested, trusted and imbued with the wisdom
and true grit necessary to survive. So as a collective group of worker bees, we see the best shot at
correcting the system is to attack from all sides, and with all hands on deck.

When I look around at my colleagues on the front lines, we all look at each other with a knowing
realization that we are all now poised to lead, while others have failed or given up. Be careful what
you ask for – we must be mindful never to make the same mistakes as our predecessors. We do have
an advantage though, for most of us are blue collar, working class, but intelligent people and we
have been on the front lines for many years. We are the grassroots; we are the independent Tea
Party citizens who are fed up with the elite telling us they are best suited for this complicated and
sophisticated job of governing.

I support JD Hayworth because when I look around at our team I see so many people who have
worked hard to retire McCain’s moderate, progressive base, by purging RINOS both in office and at
the party level in our great state of Arizona.

I support JD Hayworth because together we have stood toe- to- toe, face-to-face with McCain for
many long years. We have worked side by side. JD stood with me in Washington D.C. and along with
dozens of other elected Congressmen supported my efforts to bring attention to border security.

I support JD Hayworth because we both have directly testified before congress and challenged the
status quo. I support JD Hayworth because we both directly challenged the President of the United
States and told him he was wrong.

Jim Deakin, welcome to the team, you have much to offer, but you are a brand new player in the
true grassroots, independent movement in this state. I will say the same about many whom now
consider themselves part of the Tea Party movement. I welcome folks new to the movement that
started in 2001. I look forward to sharing what I have learned and encouraging and mentoring others
who now understand that more effort than complaining and yelling will be required to get us back
to basics.

We, the supporters of JD Hayworth are comprised of great patriots who were the first voices, post
9/11, to attack the corruption of the two-party political class system in Arizona and we are proud of
it. But I knew attacking this from within the party was the only way to repair systemic damage where
the party of my choice is controlled by a few.

Jim Deakin and Chris Simcox are now just two of over a thousand new precinct committeemen in
Maricopa County alone! We have work to do to continue as leaders and we can do that by
supporting our best chance to work as a team to accomplish our immediate and long range goals -
individual liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and the
promotion of free enterprise, national defense and traditional American values.

JD has been with us. When I say “us”, I refer to the brash, firebrands within our state Republican party
who have worked to bring us to this day – we are on the cusp of retiring, gracefully and with respect,
the McCain Republican party establishment in our state.

When I sat down to vet JD it was not hard to see his commitment as an ally who is not afraid of the
controversial issues and I know he does not back down.
When I looked over at JD’s team I see all the people I have been working with for many years. It was like they were standing there, one eyebrow cocked, arms crossed, foot tapping, impatiently waiting
for me to come aboard what is definitely our best chance to move our conservative Constitutional
agenda forward.

Some of the reactions to my decision that were posted on blogs and my Facebook page where JD is accused to be the same as McCain may in context of the past be accurate in a narrow scope of
focus. Some just want to throw the baby out with the bathwater and want all “new” people – be
careful because that is not always the correct choice. In the big picture I feel JD has a unique quality that motivates me to support him – his ability to bring experience and the humility to take responsibility for mistakes, to learn from those mistakes, try new approaches and respond to the will of the people.
JD has the support of the people, and I will lend him mine, for I still desire to serve in any capacity to
advance liberty as I continue to work with the wisdom and respect of my trusted colleagues in mind.
And when the “labelist”, those who buy into the media/internet driven labels like neo-con, big
spender, etc. want to criticize my decision, well, for me, a guy who takes no endorsements and
eschews categories and labels – it is a no-brainer folks. My message will remain intact and I will share
it with JD in order to bring your voice, my supporters, to JD’s campaign for Arizona. He is already
appreciative of and responsive to your suggestions and ideas that have been expressed on behalf
of our campaign.

Finally, when I look around at the people supporting JD is see all those who deserve credit for
helping JD take the border security/illegal immigration issue seriously. JD has illustrated many times
that he has the capacity to respond to his constituents and take on tough issues that were not
politically advantageous. Previous to my stance on the border and our push for Proposition 200 here
in Arizona, JD was soft on the issue; he is now a champion for border security and a responsible
immigration system.

For those of you who may not have worked in Washington D.C. or around any level of government
for the past 8 years I can verify that you as constituents are going to lead the trends that will more
often than not dictate how your representative acts and votes. In response to JD having brought
home the pork in the past, well, when you receive so much support from your supporters to do so -
well, what is a representative supposed to do? It might have been the thing to do at the time, but
you and I know, we the people have altered that practice, hopefully forever. We say no and JD will say no.

I am confident in JD and encourage you to challenge him more on the future needs for our country,
rather than judge him on nothing more than party promoted greed in the past. JD works with the
grassroots conservatives and this year’s election of JD Hayworth represents a strong expression of
liberty by the will of the people of Arizona.

I have many opportunities and many people have asked me to look at another office at the state level. As a family, we are looking at our options to serve. I still have some outstanding bills to pay to settle my accounts and I appreciate your continued support in helping us retire our debt.

Ours is a blue-collar, middle-class, common sense message. I will serve the people of the United States and Arizona by defending the Constitution and protecting our civil liberties. Last night the voters in Maricopa agreed and that message rang true, resulting in more signatures and financial support to help me stay in the race as the powerful Republican machine will now attempt to absorb all funding for their two party establishment candidates.

Eight years ago I challenged the status quo on illegal immigration without thought of political parties or ideology.  My goal was to bring into peoples’ attention the stark reality of our border insecurity. The two main political parties were part of a three-ring circus with Democrats and Republicans whistled on stage by the Ring Master –main stream media personalities.  Among Progressives like McCain, little has changed.

Today, conservative media personalities seem to be maneuvering to upstage each other. For example: neoconservative Mark Levin has criticized populist Glenn Beck.

In this mix, I consider myself an independent conservative and a Counter-Culture Conservative. My mission is, and always has been, to open the eyes of a widely apathetic citizenry.

I agree with Beck when he says that a President McCain would have been no better than President Obama. It partially explains why I’m challenging John McCain in the Republican primary next August.

Progressive McCain voted for TARP, nurtured Cap & Trade, and accepted the scientifically dubious premise that global warming is manmade as well as a clear and present danger to the planet. McCain ‘progressively’ engages in the healthcare debate rather than, as a genuine Conservative, leading a Senate effort to stop it on the grounds that it’s unconstitutional. And, McCain supports the failed organization that is the United Nations birthed during the beginnings by the progressive movement.

Meanwhile, we learn that Obama plans to reduce funding for border security. And, the truth is McCain never wanted to fix our porous borders. Joined by tens of thousands of citizens, I held a Tea Party on the border in 2005. We led the charge to stop the Progressive McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill in 2006. We forced Congress to build over 600 miles of fencing in 2007. The border problem still remains a serious issue regardless of the party in charge that will only improve when voters demand for change are heard.

In 2004, McCain told me, in person, “Chris, what you are doing on the border will bring more trouble than the drug cartels.” Beck was right on the border issue. A President McCain would have been no better than Obama. Today a unified McCain and Obama sit idly by allowing the drug cartels to expand their criminal activities into U.S. cities and essentially control America’s southern border.

I respect the Libertarian principles of Constitution, Freedom and Liberty. My run as a registered Republican will promote the GOP in becoming the party that once again embraces those principles. Among some in the Republican establishment the attitude toward me is “How dare you! Who the hell gave you permission to do this! You’re going to screw the whole damn thing up.”

I fully expected that response. It’s symptomatic of a political party that needs an awakening. And I believe that awakening will be delivered upon it by patriotic voters in 2010 in Arizona.

My response to the GOP establishment, and to Mark Levin, in defense of Beck is that Beck is doing what all good teachers do-what I did as a teacher. He’s starting with the basics – government 101 – and building from there.

My love of the Constitution and my deep respect for the freedom-loving conservatives of Arizona call me to run against John McCain.  He, progressive liberals, and the professional GOP party loyalists should take note. People are demanding that politicians return their government to its Constitutional foundation. In the next election, they will elect Congressional representatives who will protect our free market economic system, our borders, and our national security.

So I’m running as a states’ rights candidate. And I will, when elected, work to protect the state from federal government encroachments. I will work closely with Arizona’s elected representatives to protect the rights of Arizona’s citizens. I will not enter the Senate with the overriding goal of working for the GOP or the federal government. I will go to bring a message from the American people that says, “Keep it simple; stay out of our private lives; do what’s necessary to defend the nation. And don’t impede our industry or stand in the way of our enterprising spirit flourishing once again.”

I agree with some political commentators who wrote that McCain’s vote may have been an expedient political maneuver because McCain is facing a serious primary challenge. I am that challenge. So I gladly awoke at 4:30 a.m. to support the notion that McCain voted “No” in order to gain, or better, to appease the so-called “”conservative Republican”” votes over “Hispanic” votes in his battle to be re-nominated in 2010.

My point on MSNBC was based on what I believe, and that’s this:

It’s a shame that we still discuss politics in terms of racial or ethnic demography. It’s Sonja Sotomayor’’s association with overtly ethnic supremacist organizations that represents a problem. It should immediately disqualify her as a Supreme Court nominee. Any judge, or law enforcement agent, should be scrutinized closely if they’ve associated with a group that uses racial identification as their primary belief system. Sotomayor’’s association with La Raza, MALDEF, MECHA, et al., should immediately exclude her, or anyone else, from ever being a judge, in my opinion.

A judge must apply the law consistently and inclusively. Lady Justice is blind to any ethnocentric-biased creed or value system based on race or religion. A Supreme Court Justice’s job is to protect American citizens by ensuring that the laws and practices of the nation’s lower courts remain in -line with the freedoms and liberties claimed for all citizens in the Constitution, and in its amendments.

In a press release several weeks ago, I stated that I would have made up my mind on Sotomayor early in the confirmation process. What took McCain so long? The fundamental issue is about protecting the people, by way of our Constitution, and not allowing one’s life experiences to be the lens through which a judge makes decisions. To rule on the basis of personal bias negatively affects the lives of all our nation’s citizens – citizens whose rights are all protected by our Constitution.

It’s time politicians stop making political calculations about the percentage of ethnic voter groups, and stop taking self-serving positions based on racial, ethnic or religious considerations, as I believe McCain did.

I’m running for the Senate as an independent Republican. I’m not beholdening to, nor am I held captive by, any party system. I am accountable to all the people in Arizona, and first and foremost I must follow the Constitution. I believe in the Republican Party’s stated ideals and platforms, many of which are being under-represented today in Congress. These are the factors that will influence my votes in the Senate.

Instead of cutting back on recruitment and actually planning to reduce the numbers of personnel why are we not utilizing them to secure our borders and coasts? People need jobs and we have plenty of work to accomplish along our borders and coastal boundaries; let’s put America to work defending America. A strong defense is for the common good, It’s common sense and it’s Constitutionally sound practice and the mandated responsibility of our U.S. Senate. The only jobs Obama has any business creating and funding are defense jobs because his oath is to protect our life, liberty and our pursuit of happiness. Thank God for those who serve in our U.S. military, the more the better.

Just weeks after taking office, President Obama has announced he is considering troop deployment to our southern border.

Since 2002, Chris Simcox and the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps have been sounding the alarm and warning of the escalating national security crisis that we now face on our border with an increasingly destabilized Mexico.

National Guard troops can be stationed at military bases like Fort Huachuca and can shut down the heavily-trafficked cartel routes in places like the mountains just above that high security military base in southeastern Arizona.

During the recent national campaign, Simcox and MCDC Vice President Carmen Mercer personally delivered a detailed report and plans for securing the border to Obama’s D.C. Senate office, and again after President Obama took office MCDC executives sent a detailed report and plan for securing the border.  With the exponential increase in murderous cartel violence along the border, Mr. Obama is now obviously considering the need to heed good counsel.

Minutemen stand ready to welcome U.S. troops to protect American property owners, law enforcement personnel and even support law-and-order Mexican patriots defending their people along the war-zone border, if necessary.

Since 2002 Chris Simcox has been warning of the crisis which now confronts us.

It is unfortunate that although we in the border security movement warned our officials of this impending crisis when we started the border watch movement after the 9/11 attacks, the government failed to act. Senator McCain and Gov. Napolitano were urgently and repeatedly warned of the accelerating national security and public safety threat at the border by our Minuteman movement, and their inaction has directly led to the proliferation and Fortune 100-like corporate growth of the international drug cartels — which have now also systematically absorbed and control all forms of human smuggling and other forms of contraband, including arms and weapons running.

It is something of a relief to MCDC to think that our volunteers may realize a major goal of 7 years grueling activist work, by finally having our posts — we hope and pray — taken over by National Guard and U.S. military deployments adequate to the threat.  From day one in 2002 we have always warned of the threat presented by the ruthless cartel networks, our analyses calling for many thousands of well-armed and supported U.S. troops were reviewed and embraced by alert Congressmen — and now we look forward to President Obama doing his duty and our being honorably relieved of our posts on watch.   The citizen volunteers of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps long for the day when we can certify and report to the American people that our borders are, indeed, secure.  But will the President, in fact, act?

Thus far this year, to all available evidence, crossings are somewhat down, violence is massively up. The cartels are locked into mortal combat among themselves, and with the Mexican military — and the U.S. military is unavoidably needed to secure America’s safety, sovereignty and national security. Now is the perfect opportunity to end the border security issue once and for all, and the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps plan is the only practical solution.

Cartel violence has reached unprecedented levels along the U.S.-Mexico border, and is fostering a pandemic of home invasions, kidnappings and murders throughout the United States of America.

“President Obama inherited three wars, the most critical right here at home along our southern and northern national boundaries. Our southern border presents a full-blown national security crisis, and a serious domestic threat to public safety, that has affected every community within a day’s drive of the Mexico line.  Mr. Obama better not tell the imperiled American people we don’t have enough money or manpower, or it is not a priority, to secure our borders. And John McCain should be drawing up battle plans to protect U.S. citizens by sending the U.S. Marines to the border instead of quibbling over the cost of a single helicopter named Marine One,”

“Time for stop-gap measures or waiting for other nations to mend their ways has run out.  Mexico’s president Calderon and his government will also need much more than a half billion of our tax dollars (Meridia Plan) to battle international terrorist organizations that control almost every city throughout Mexico. Our National Guard and Marines must be deployed to protect American interests, including lives and property, along our border.”

The same international smuggling operations shooting it out at the border have active organized criminal cells in over 195 U.S. cities, according to a recent Department of Justice report.
Minutemen stationed along the border from Texas to California and Washington to New York State continued to report an egregious lack of U.S. border security and high vulnerability to incursion, facilitated by criminal networks of outposts dotting the high ground along the entire border.  Minuteman volunteers have scoured the trails and have identified drug cartel and smuggler’s outposts at high elevations all along the border in California and Arizona.

It will take an immediate deployment of 8,000 National Guard and special ops personnel to contain the extremely violent and terroristic international crime organizations that control the mountainous passages of the U.S./Mexico border.
For over 7 years, our organization have been at the forefront of helping secure the United States borders and coastal boundaries against the unlawful entry of individuals, contraband and even foreign military in an all-volunteer effort to protect law-abiding American citizens, and uphold the rule of law.

I have long argued publicly against the policies advocated by renowned so-called border security tough guys who grandstand on feeble proposals and media-driven border security “initiatives.”  That list of the feeble and the failed is topped by Senator John McCain and former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, recently appointed as U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security.  The frightening reality is that drug and human smuggling is unquestionably one of the most pressing security issues facing our nation, and its effects have been devastating to the well-being of American citizens in countless communities across the country.

More than 8,000 individuals were killed in Mexico due to drug related violence in the last two years alone; the Mexican drug cartels reportedly supply illegal drugs to their gang member affiliates in at least 230 U.S. cities; and 240 cartel-related kidnappings occurred last year alone in Phoenix, Arizona.  The statistics of crisis do not lie.

Americans along the border have long locked and loaded – thanks to people like John McCain it is now become part of our culture. People who live along our southern border have been waiting for leadership who will respond to the critical implications of not protecting the rights of private property owners. Or, maybe they do, and this is the way they like it.
If the people’s government does not respond soon, the government of the people and by the people will respond and the Minutemen organization does not want to be in the way when Americans begin defending American private property. All we can do is get out of the way and say, I told you so.
